Activity 4: Multiple Perspective

Warm-up Activity

Stakeholders are those who can affect (Direct Stakeholder) or be affected (Indirect Stakeholder) by a certain event. They could be as small as a few individuals, a group of people or as big as a whole government.

We were shown 2 images as part of the warm-up activity.

2 street hawkers selling micro-fibre cloths to the cars stopped at a red light.

The hawkers and the drivers are the direct stakeholders involved here. The passengers, other members of the traffic i.e. two wheelers, pedestrians, members of these hawkers families, etc are the indirect stakeholders.

Faculty members of IIAD with an artisan and the students

Here the Faculty, artisan, and students are the direct stakeholders. The student's families, hospitality, security, administrative staff, street vendors around the campus, transportation facilities, etc are the indirect stakeholders.

Reflection

  • Stakeholder mapping allows us to see potential solutions to any given scenario. It's basically putting yourself in somebody's shoes and seeing a problem and finding solutions for it.

  • We got our mapping reviewed by Group 5. Overall they found our mapping quite easy and quick to understand. The only thing they questioned was one of my group member's stakeholder 'Token Provider's solution for their problem.

  • My group's functioning was a little here and there. The first 10-15 mins were taken up by getting into the Miro board. After that, our perception of the activity wasn't the same, so getting to the same level again took us some time, but then i managed to get everything in order. Everybody knew what they were supposed to do.

Learning Mantra

When assesing a situation/problem, it always helps to step into the shoes of everyone involved.
